Poggio
Pelliccia cont..
The
monumental tomb is of a of a Tholos type.
When
entering the visitor is presented with a "corridor", a long and impressive
dromos which leads the way to the burial place. The former is uncovered
for the first part and leads to a door, still composed by an impressive
architrave, doorjamb and threshold.
The
door leads to the second part of the tumuled and tunnel-like dromos, this
time covered which leads to the quadrangularly shaped funerary chamber,
where the burial took place.
The
cupola is not to be seen anymore, however a presence of the latter in
its original form can be presumed by the remains of a first set of stones
which was part of the penditive structure of the tomb.
